Today I'm doing something a little different... I'm writing about a manicure I just removed from my nails. So for once I can tell you about how the polishes came off my nails as well.
I know you all are probably over Crackles/Shatters. Not me, OPI Black Shatter is definitely one of my favorite polishes now. I absolutely love it! I'm not a fan of the other colors - so far the black crackle is the only color I really like. I actually love Black Shatter so much that I want another Shatter/Crackle but so far I haven't found another color I love as much as the black, so I'm just going to have to keep looking.
A couple of things in regards to OPI Black Shatter: obviously, I love it. It's great for using a few days before you take off a manicure to give it new life. Speaking of taking it off... it comes off really easily! That's actually the only real problem I have with this polish is that it comes off too easily - it tends to chip more easily and if you don't put top coat on it almost immediately you're going to regret it. You'll notice in a few of my pictures the tips of my fingers look as though they chipped away? Yeah. So most important with this polish? Definitely use lots of top coat. That being said, here are some photos without top coat. Can you tell how matte it is?
The following photos are with 1 layer of Sally Hansen Teflon Tuff top coat.
I think this was my favorite of my manicures so far.. you can see in the last photo just how glittery Kleancolor Holo Yellow is and even the photo doesn't do it justice. Holo Yellow on its own isn't really my style, but with the Shatter, it's much more me :) This manicure even photographed well!
This was one of those times I'm sad to see it go, but I had to take it off so I can do a new manicure tomorrow :) While I'm mentioning taking it off.....
OPI Black Shatter removed very easily. It practically slid off.
Kleancolor Holo Yellow was pretty horrible to take off. Typical for anything with any kind of glitter in it. It stuck to my nails; stuck to the OPI underneath.
OPI NYC Ballet minis were part of the problem with the removal of this manicure. The entire OPI/Kleancolor layers were sticking to each other so well and then in turn sticking to my nails that they just did not want to come off. Same with the Sally Hansen White Tip.
OPI Pirouette My Whistle is absolutely HORRIBLE to remove. Its been awhile since I've used it, so I had forgotten. I seriously seem to have glitter from it embedded in my nail. These glitters just do not want to be removed. I finally gave up and left the few remaining glitters go and just hope that they fall off eventually. So far one or two have. I still have 3 more glitters waiting to fall off or be removed. They are pretty well attached and pretty stubborn!
