As promised here's part one of my manicure. I'm going to break this down into several blog posts over the next few days. My final manicure actually still isn't finished, even though I started it a couple of days ago. Before I start talking about it, however, here's a photo of the nail mail I received Thursday. It's the second part of my Copious.com order which I purchased for $4.77.
Today I'll be showing you Sally Hansen's Hard As Nails White Tip 07. Just searching for this polish quickly online, I found it at Amazon for $5.69. It is .45 fl oz/ 13.3 ml which seems to be pretty standard for Sally Hansen polishes. The bottle instructions state to use 2 - 3 coats; as you'll see, it definitely needs at least 2.
I took a couple of photos in different lighting. I believe the photo on the left is without flash, photo on the right with flash. Just 1 coat, and as you can tell, it's pretty streaky. It's a nice, simple white even at one coat. I'll show you 2 coats of this polish, but you'll have to wait until my next follow up post for that ;)
So, what do I think? I like it. I just wanted a plain, simple white mostly for using underneath other polishes, and it works great for just that. I wish it wasn't quite so streaky with one coat, but that isn't anything too unusual. I didn't notice any smell, and it seemed to dry pretty quick. Just within a few minutes it was noticeably drier. Considering I bought this polish for $1.59, I'm happy with it, no complaints.
By the way, I don't know if you can tell or not, but I'm trying to grow my nails out a bit so I have more than just stumps. The day I was expecting to receive my package, all of my nails were long. By the time I actually received it, 2 days later, half of my nails had needed to be trimmed already. :( My pink and next one over are the longest they've been in probably ten or more years. It's definitely taking some getting used to!
I know this polish isn't very pretty with just one coat, so please don't judge it just by that. I promise, it's a lot nicer with 2 coats.
Thanks for reading and if you have any comments, questions or suggestions, as always please feel free to comment. I love reading your comments!
