This is a follow up post to my Try It On Tuesday post from last Tuesday in which I used Carly and Holly.
My manicure last week didn't last long; I quickly decided I prefer my nails to be solid colors. I also wasn't feeling much love for my 2 Zoya, Carly and Holly. Within just 2 days they both were chipping. I was not a happy camper. I loved the colors, but was not happy with my dotting attempt, nor the chipping so I decided to paint them over with 1 more Zoya: Cynthia. I love Cynthia, but within just 1 day it was also chipping. Again, I was not happy. I'm hoping I just need to use a better base/top coat or something... because this stuff is expensive for not lasting long! Worse yet, I took the manicure off today and discovered it left my nails stained green! Not just those I painted with Holly, either. All of them have a greenish tint to them and quite frankly it doesn't look very nice. I'll be very happy to paint my nails tonight.
Despite how my nails turned out upon removal of the polish, and despite the chipping... Cynthia remains one of my favorite polishes. I absolutely love the color! It's black but not black! It's a very dark teal blue which most certainly does look black in most light. However, I was surprised yesterday when I went out in the sun and my nails looked almost purple! (With good reason, but I'll get to that.)
I will definitely be trying Carly and Holly again sometime and hopefully get better results. The colors really are gorgeous! For now, here are some photos of Cynthia!
(sorry for the blurriness in this photo!)
It's really strange... blue is 1 of my most favorite colors, yet I realized I only own maybe 3 blue polishes. Jillian at Jilltastic Nail Design & More had a nail art challenge last week: to wear blue for AMC Awareness. I participated by wearing Cynthia. You can read more about this challenge and AMC by reading Jillian's post.
I actually added on to this manicure, but I think I'm going to save the details of that for a second post ;)
