Happy Independence Day to all of my fellow Americans! Hope you all have a fun and safe holiday today... and hope you stay cool as this heat wave continues. Everyone else, have a great day as well!
I decided to do something different for today using two of my new polishes: Julep Kate and of course, America. I also used one of my ancient, ancient polishes by Wet 'n' Wild. This one I have no clue what the color is named, if anything; it only contains a number: 415A. When doing a Web search for this one, it appears it was released in 1994. Vintage polish, anyone? I'd like to add that it works perfectly for an 18 year old polish! I don't remember specifically what year I bought this one, but it was definitely sometime in the 90s.
I really love this style, and I love how my nails came out. I'm definitely going with this look again. Here were my issues:
Kate came out kind of bubbly, definitely not smooth. It did come out almost perfect with 1 coat, however.
I don't know if it's just my polish, but my America is VERY chunky and hard to work with. It dries really quickly which is really great for the nails but not so good when trying to get it out of the bottle, onto the brush, etc. For me, the stars were difficult to get out and mostly they came out very covered in glitter and just didn't really come out looking nice. I've looked over their guide on how to use America, and it did not help.
I also used the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Top Coat and it really did dry to the touch very quickly. Hours later, my nails do still feel a little wet but they definitely dried fast enough that I didn't have to worry about messing them up. It did only take maybe a minute for them to set up... it definitely wasn't 30 seconds, but it wasn't the hours I'm used to waiting, either.
Anyway, check out my photos and let me know what you think!
GOD BLESS AMERICA!

I love it! looks fabulous!
