A word about hair care

When I first started this blog, I had every intention of providing reviews for hair care products. Well, I realized the other day I can't do that! Here's why:

I have what I believe is eczema on my scalp. The only thing I've found to relieve it is to wash my hair every other day, but also to frequently switch products. I typically keep 2 different types of shampoos and switch between them all the time. That being said, I can't honestly judge hair care samples for 2 reasons:
1. anytime I use anything new on my hair, my hair pretty much feels fantastic
2. to get an accurate assessment of a product, I would have to have full size bottles to see if they trigger the eczema.

So, I won't be doing hair product reviews here but I'll keep letting you know about any samples I find. The good news for me is, all these samples should leave my hair feeling great :) This week I'm trying out Dove's Intensive Repair Daily Treatment Conditioner. As you can see by the picture, I got two samples of it so it should be enough to last me a few times. Perhaps I'll have enough to give you an honest opinion, we'll see! I got this sample, I believe by purchasing something from Walmart.com and they simply included it in my order. They do that sometimes!

With all of that in mind, the 1 product I can absolutely vouch for is Dove's Daily Moisture Therapy Replenishing Mist but they apparently stopped making it some time ago, BOO! I LOVE this product. My hair is long, almost down to my waist. It is also very unruly; as a child, I remember my mom often told me to brush my hair just minutes after I brushed it! It literally takes my hair just minutes to tangle after brushing. I bought Dove's Daily Moisture Therapy Replenishing Mist years ago, and I've been using it ever since!

A few years ago, I started having nerve pain in my left arm. My hair looked a mess; I could barely brush it, and I often considered just cutting it all off. Dove's Daily Moisture Therapy Replenishing Mist did the trick; after just a few uses, I was able to brush it again with no problem. Those days, I used the Replenishing Mist daily. I wish I had some pictures to show you the difference, but unfortunately I don't. Before using this product, my hair seriously looked like one big tangled knot. It was terrible!

These days, my hair is healthier, and my arm isn't causing me as many problems. I bought a couple of bottles of the mist about 3 years ago, and I still have 1 bottle unopened. I only have to use it a few times a month, but I know if I have a really bad tangle all I have to do is use a few sprays and it will magically untangle. This stuff is seriously the best hair product I've ever used. I'm really sad to see they don't make it any more. You can still buy it from Amazon, but it isn't cheap! Though I have to say, one seller is selling 4 bottles of the stuff for $19.99 and considering one bottle has lasted me about 3 years, it's well worth the price! Dove, please bring this product back, it is amazing!
