Nail polish quickfix

Real quick, just wanted to post something I tried. I don't know if it's because I'm wearing cheap nail polish or if it's just old, but my nail polish tends to not just chip but come off in sheets.. Seriously, sometimes I look down and there is half of my nail polish missing off of a finger. Tonight I caught it on one finger, just in time. So here's what I did:

  • Gently lifted the nail polish which was chipping away from my finger nail.
  • Applied a very thin coat of top coat.
  • Pressed the polish back down onto the top coat to secure it in place.
  • Applied 2 coats of top coat over the entire finger nail just to secure it back in place.
This seems to have done the trick, at least for a temporary fix. We'll see, I suppose. It hasn't come off at all, and seems to be holding on pretty well so I think it's good to go for awhile. I tried taking a picture so you could see, it looks pretty much like normal. I couldn't get a good photo in this light, though.

So here's a question for you: does this happen to you and what do you do to fix it? Do you just let it go and rip it off, or do you try to repair it?
