I recently saw a blog post which was titled "My Life Today" and it showed the writer's life in pictures. I thought this was a really cool idea, and I decided to go with that theme a little bit for this last update on my nail polishes. I mentioned before, today is my 6 month blogiversary but tomorrow is my 12th anniversary with my boyfriend. We've been through a lot together, especially over the past few years. I have a lot going on with me right now which I don't typically share with you all... we still haven't looked at my computer, but more importantly I've been REALLY stressed out because I've been trying to get my anti-seizure medicine for the past 3 weeks and my doctor's office keeps screwing up the prescription so no, they still haven't gotten it right. They may not appreciate how much I need my medicine, but I sure do. Without it, I would definitely have seizures again all the time which could very well put my life in danger, not to mention the resulting brain damage. So, I use this blog, exercise, and a few other hobbies to help me relax and I thought I'd share some of those with you.
Since my boyfriend has to work tomorrow, we celebrated our anniversary this past weekend. Honestly, it was pretty boring but at least we were together. I made french bread pizza using bread and pizza sauce made from scratch.
Mike wanted sausage, pepperoni, ham and mushrooms on his.
I followed this recipe and it really turned out very good! I will definitely be using this recipe again sometime. My boyfriend commented that he normally doesn't like french bread pizza so much, but he did like this.
We had butter pecan ice cream for dessert. I added potato chips to mine - which thank you, Grandpa, I forgot how good this was! Mike added candy to his.
On Facebook, I recently posted that I went to Hobby Lobby and got some supplies for making nail polish jewelry. Well, here's what I got. They sell the plastic pieces for $3.99 for a set of 8 and they come in all different shapes. The metal pieces are $2.99 but you only get 2 per package. They sell supplies for necklaces, rings, etc.
Before I show you my newest polishes, let me show you what else I'm doing right now to relax, including what else I got from Hobby Lobby.
I'm currently reading Madeleine L'Engle's Time series (you may know of a Wrinkle in Time?) and I'm on the last book, An Acceptable Time. I read A Wrinkle in Time when I was little and a few years ago I bought the series, so I'm reading them again. Very good and interesting reads.
Mike & I are also both playing Final Fantasy the 4 Heroes of Light on our Nintendo DS systems. We're both big fans of Final Fantasy, or at least the older games. 4 Heroes of Light so far is pretty awesome and has more of the feel of some of the older games. It's definitely quite different from the rest of the series, however. There are a few things to the system they've changed in this game, and not necessarily for the better. Mike made a comment he'd like to see FF Tactics combined with the 4 Heroes of Light system.
Last up is my knitting. I taught myself to knit last year about this time, and I made myself some armlets. This time I'm making legwarmers, but I got brave and decided to use 3 colors. It took a minute to figure out, but I'm getting the hang of it :)
This blog post ended up being longer than I expected so I guess I'm going to do a 4th post where I share my polishes with you all. Sorry about that!
As a sneak peak, here's how I reorganized my polish and makeup goodies today. You can also see a glimpse of my two new Terry Pratchett novels in the first photo :)
I put all of my polishes in the first box, organized by when I got them so all of my old polishes are now at the front of the box. I quickly realized I needed a new box to put all of my September polishes in, so I emptied out my makeup & nail art box and put those in a rubbermaid box.
