A new toe nail underneath my old toenail, yay!!!!!!! You can't tell, but it's still pretty messed up looking and hasn't grown out to a normal looking toenail but it is much healthier than what I'm used to deal with. This is a result of having black toenail, which I've had off and on for years but this is the first time the nail completely came off as it did. So, I am very happy to have a pretty much normal looking toenail again for the first time in too many years.
This is the crummy picture I got with the old nail still hanging on. It was just barely clinging on to the edge of my toe. I started pulling it off slowly and carefully but it started to bleed so I just trimmed off the old nail.
Last week I promised to share my updated manicure with you all, but then I developed bronchitis and I haven't really been doing too much. So that's also what's going on with me right now. But I do have photos to share with you all of my updated manicure, finally! :)
This one was inspired by the legwarmers I am now knitting.
2 coats of Revlon Gunmetal
nail art was done with Essie Plumberry which I won from Be Someone Cute and Kiss Nail Art in Black which I won from Sabina Supernova. This manicure was the easiest ever to remove. I still had my clear coat hardener base coat left on my nails almost entirely! This was a really fun manicure to do, also. The Kiss polish didn't last long, unfortunately. It was fun doing something completely different :)
This is about the time of year when I start feeling crafty and I just want to do a lot more crafts around the home and more decor. Since I don't want to spend any more in doing so, or as little as possible, I mostly use what supplies I already have. A couple of years ago I was babysitting my niece all the time and I bought a couple of Makit and Bakit kits to do with her. She was too little to do them herself (she still is) so I just had her pick out the colors and she would watch me make them. She did pretty well! Anyway, I still have a bunch of the sets and also I still have some from when I was a kid so every now and then I make some new ones to hang in my kitchen window. Here are the 3 I made this past week.
Last Friday I got a bunch of goodies in the mail...
I got the Sephora Hello Kitty polish I've been wanting specifically for the bottle... thank you, April, once again for the gift card! I got a gift card from her using Wrapp and also a $10 gift card from Wrapp so instead of paying like $16.45 for the polish it was only $1.45. YAY!!!!! I also got my Seche Vite which I got for 60 cents from Copious, a bunch of samples, and hair dye which I got from Walgreens on sale at 2/$6. Revlon hair dye is normally $6 a box at my grocery store where I normally buy it so I had to take advantage of this deal! We still haven't dyed my hair though.
I also got my prizes from I Love My Kids Blog's giveaway. Over $60 worth of cosmetics. While I appreciate this prize greatly, my brain says $60 worth of cosmetics and from there it turns into this huge pile of makeup and polish and fun stuff. Then I remember this is the expensive stuff. So once I'm feeling better, I'm definitely going to have to try out some of my new cosmetics and see exactly what the difference is.
I do love to cook and the other day I started making chocolate chip cookies. Three days later, I finally finished making them. I had started with the butter and sugar and never got past that so I just kept the "dough" in the fridge until I had time to make them.. but then I needed my bowl to make bread so finally I was forced to actually sit down and make my cookies. I decided to use up some of our cocoa powder so I added that... and while the cookies molded well, the dough was just too crumbly. So I ended up adding some mayo to give them a little bit more wetness. Then I got them too wet, so I had to add a bit more flour... but the end result was very yummy!
The last thing I have to share with you is.... ROSES! I cannot believe here in Wisconsin, 2nd week of October, there are still roses blooming. I had to get a photo of my neighbor's roses just for memory's sake.
It's funny, my days always seem to blend into each other, I rarely feel like I've accomplished much. Looking back at this past week I realize that really isn't so! :)
