As I mentioned yesterday, Monday I received a whole bunch of packages in the mail. The last of these packages was a full size La Bella Donna Gina Magnifica eyeshadow compact provided to me for review through TRIB3 Chic.
First of all, I apologize because there won't be many pictures with this post. As I mentioned, I received this Monday in the mail but with me being on night shift that means in my world I just got this yesterday. I'm definitely a layman when it comes to makeup, and I'm still very much learning about it and experimenting. Honestly, I'm not a fan of eye makeup on me. I would rather give you all an honest review of my first impressions of this product with no or little pictures than a review with with a ton of pictures which don't look so good because I'm not skilled enough at applying eye makeup yet.
So now that I've mentioned I don't like how eye makeup looks on me... I think this little compact changed that! With the exception of maybe the darkest color, I really love how all of these colors look. It's exactly what I've been wanting and looking for in eye shadow. The colors are much more natural than what I've been using. I'm definitely going to have to play around with these eye shadows some more but right now I am very happy with it.
I will say I thought the rose orange color was a bit weird for a natural color compact, even though it looks really pretty as an eye shadow. After reading their Web site, I found out this is actually to be used as an eye shadow or a blush! I have naturally very pink cheeks so I will just be using it as an eye shadow but I do like that they provided this in their product.
Here is a swatch of the colors on my hand.
As you can see, the lighter colors really do just blend in with my skin tone very nicely.
I do think this product would provide a nice staple in any makeup kit, and it's definitely a nice palette for those of us who like natural looks. This compact can be bought on La Bella Donna's Web site, but at $55 it is definitely out of my price range.
So, as a nail blogger and not a makeup blogger I'm not really sure what more to add to this. The makeup seemed to apply just fine, although it definitely left quite a bit of extra makeup on my face after application so I did have to clean up a bit. Removal was easy, except for the dark color called Deep Earth.
Overall, I'm very happy with this product and I know I will definitely be using it a lot.
As always, please let me know if you have any questions or comments!
