I was provided with this polish.
Last week you saw a sneak peek of today's polish when I reviewed the KKCenterHk stamper. Yes, I'm talking about this mess.
Give me a minute, and I'll show you the pretty purple polish beneath this chaos.
I wasn't expecting to get this polish to review, but I was excited when I got it. Lavender is one of my favorite scents and colors. This color reminds me of many years ago, I asked my mom for some lavender colored towels for Christmas. What I received was something a little closer to fuchsia or I suppose lilac, depending on what you consider lilac. Those light purple colors seem confuse people in regards to which color is which so obviously I can appreciate the name of this polish. I thought it was funny. I know, silly story!
Here is 3 coats of Lilac or Lavender?
I love the color, of course! The formula itself I wasn't sure about at all when I first swatched it. It just wasn't quite the nice creme I expected. It was almost too thin for what I expect from a creme. So I swatched it a second time.
The second time I decided I was just in one of my mood's that first day; it turned out fine the second time now that I knew what to expect. I think what threw me off is I would have to describe this more as a crelly than a creme; almost a jelly creme.
So I'm still a bit unsure about this polish. I'm not sure if I like the color on me, it's just a bit too pastel. I'm sure I would love it on someone else. Maybe it will grow on me more when I use it in the future. That's just a personal preference though. I really had no issues with this polish once I knew what to expect. I will mention that like most Dreamy Lacquer polishes, this one also seems to be fairly sheer with just 2 coats. I'd recommend 3 coats.
Here it is with 2 coats, topped with Cover Girl Amethyst Mist once again. I think you can see how it's not quite perfect opacity at 2 coats.
It does seem that most of Dreamy Lacquer's polishes take 3 coats to reach a nice opacity but these do seem to dry in decent time so no problem there.
Thanks again to Dreamy Lacquer Company for providing me with this polish to sample.
Lilac or Lavender? is available for $8 for a full size bottle at their online store.
You can find Dreamy Lacquer on Facebook, Twitter, and be sure to check out their blog.
