One more book review for today as I finished this one ahead of schedule.
All the training in Heaven couldn't prepare me for the war on earth, nor for the love, loss, or loneliness humans feel. I absolutely loved this story. As a child of the eighties this book falls into the category I like to think of as books I wish had existed when I was a kid. I love elements of this book are so familiar to traditional fairy tales yet at the same time could fit in with more modern classics. I think the evil witch was among my favorite characters because in the beginning I couldn't tell if she were really bad or not. I found her to be realistic in some ways and amusing. My husband listened in from time to time and felt this to be cheesy but I feel it's a good entertaining story for all ages. As the main character grows and becomes more comfortable with who she is and learns from her life the story teaches many important lessons about personal strength and endurance. I would recommend this to any one who loves fantasy. I'm looking forward to the other books in the series.
