KKCenterHk Review: N.NAIL Cartoon Hello Kitty Kitty KT Halloween Pumpkin Witch Cake [NNAIL-WDSYW046]

I was provided with this product as a press sample.

Happy Halloween! I have a whole punch of posts to share with you still, so I'll try not to bombard you too much.. hehe. First up, I have a Hello Kitty water decal product to share with you, provided to me from KKCenterHK.

Product number NNAIL-WDSYW046

I was never really that big a fan of Hello Kitty myself, but having a niece who loves HK will certainly change things! If you're not very familiar with water decals, they're pretty simple to use. You paint your nails as usual, let them dry a little bit. Then you simply cut out whichever decal you want to use, let it soak in water for a few seconds, then gently lift the decal off the paper. Then all you have to do is carefully place the decal on your nail and apply top coat. Pretty simple.

These were very easy to use. No problems, except very minor wrinkling.  This particular set of decals is very appropriate for Halloween. the only thing that doesn't really seem to fit in is the Hello Kitty ballerina. Not quite Halloweenish, although I suppose for Hello Kitty, it is. So that's a little minor note.

To start off this manicure, I applied Kleancolor Neon Green, which I found oddly to be a jelly polish. It's very sheer, but applied without any major issues. I love this color!

Then I just applied the decals. On my left hand, I used Kleancolor Chunky Copper just to give my nails some more glitz. However, I forgot that the base is a bit orange tinted. So to give you a better view of the decals, and to see how these did with top coat, I only used Jior Couture's top coat. Some top coats can really mess up your decals as I learned last year. I had absolutely no problems with this.

Added bonus, because I used a neon polish, these really glowed under black light! Great for a Halloween look :)

Poshly giveaway winnings!

I won these items.

A couple of months ago, I won a giveaway over at Poshly.com. If you're not familiar with Poshly, they run multiple beauty giveaways all week long and the prizes are full sized items! All you have to do is sign up with them, and take a few quizzes to gain entry points towards a giveaway. So anyway, going back a few months ago, I won a lip gloss but for whatever reason, I never received it in the mail. After multiple emails, and a few months later I finally received a prize. The lip gloss I won originally was out of stock, so they sent me over a whole bunch of prizes instead, with a higher value than my original prize! How awesome is that?

I received 4 femme couture eye glitters: chain reaction, purple potion, honey dust and rockin rose; MAC limited edition lipstick and nail polish in Scarlet Ibis and Flaming Rose. Here's some swatches for you.

I wore chain reaction yesterday just on my eyelashes, over mascara. This worked really well and I really liked the effect. It just added a nice little bit of glitter and sparkle to my eyes. No problems.

It's actually kind of funny that I received a lip stick in place of a lip gloss because all I ever wear is lip gloss. This is the first time I've owned lipstick in about 15 years. I've been wanting to try a good lipstick for awhile now, so that was pretty lucky! Scarlet Ibis is more of an orange red which is a bit tricky with my complexion but I found that if I do my eyeshadow just right, I can make it work without feeling like I'm wearing clown makeup. My major issue with lipstick is that it always always clumped up on my lips and just made a big mess. I didn't have that problem with Scarlet Ibis, thank goodness!

That brings us to the MAC polish, Flaming Rose. Honestly, I was a bit disappointed when I received another red nail polish, just because I already have like 20 and oddly enough I never seem to wear any of it. That's OK; it's my first MAC polish so I'm excited about that. I tried it yesterday so I might as well do a full review for you now :)

 -flash-

This is ONE coat. Yes! A one coat wonder! How often does that happen? Unfortunately, as you can see in my picture, it stained like crazy and was pretty difficult to get all of it off my fingers. It dried very quickly. I'm very impressed with this polish just for the speedy time and for being a one coater.

-natural light-

I didn't get a chance to apply topcoat, so unfortunately this chipped severely and it didn't take long to chip, either. Next time, I would definitely use a top coat but I might even apply two coats of Flaming Rose just to be safe. With the super fast dry time, it wouldn't matter too much.

-flash-

What's kind of odd about this polish, and I say odd in regards to myself not the polish, is that I normally hate wearing just plain solid polish. I have to cover it with glitter or crackle or something. Not with Flaming Rose. It just seemed to be perfect by itself. Classic, I suppose.

Thank you to Poshly for providing me with all of these fun new goodies to try out! Have you won something from Poshly? Let me know!

Rose Voxbox is here!

I Received these products complimentary for testing purposes from Influenster.

It's here! My Rose Voxbox from Influenster arrived in my mail today.

(I was just getting ready to do some yoga when my mail arrived, so you'll see my yoga mat in the background :P)

My box contained:

Rimmel London Scandaleyes Retro Glam Mascara in black, which I am currently wearing and I do have to comment that it DID clump.

Dr. Scholl's For Her Cosy Cushions, which I'm really excited about. I love Dr. Scholl's products and I'm looking forward to trying these out. I'm a little doubtful about how long they will actually last. These have a plush layer for extra cushioning. In the past, with all the walking I do sometimes, I've worn out a new pair of Dr. Scholl's products in just one night. So we'll see.

belVita crunchy Breakfast Biscuits - these have rye in them, which I hate but I'll try them and give them a chance anyway. I got blueberry, which I love, so I won't complain too much.

Kiss Graditation Polishes!! Yes, three new polishes, woohoo! Of course I'm excited about this. I received the film noir color pack. The colors aren't really unique but it will be fun to try this set out and see how it works as a gradiation set.

Lindt LINDOR Milk Chocolate Truffles - yummm chocolate!

Vitabath Hydrating Lotion - Admittedly, living in Wisconsin, this is probably just what I need. However, I'm awful about remembering to use lotion so I'm going to have to make extra efforts to remember to use this. I received a green tea scent, which I'm not crazy about green tea scents. I'm also a little weary because there is coffee in this product and being caffeine sensitive I try to avoid all coffee in any form. I'll give it a chance anyway.

Thanks to Influenster for providing me with all of these products! I will be reviewing them all in full in a few weeks.

Sinful Colors Black Magic

I have nothing to disclose; I bought this item.

I went to Walgreens a couple of days ago to see if they had any of the Fantasy Makers polishes. No such luck, but I did pick up 2 Sinful Colors polishes because they were on sale for 99 cents a piece. I grabbed the last bottle of Black Magic, one of the SC colors for fall this year.

I'm so glad I grabbed this color because it's gorgeous and I have nothing else like it. I used three coats here. The polish is sort of a gunmetal grey, with orange glitters mixed in.  I just have a few problems with this polish: as you can see, it didn't really want to be removed from my fingers so cleanup was a problem. Also, on my middle finger, you can see that it was starting to wear already just in the time it took me to paint my nails, attempt clean up, and grab my camera. Not good! This was without top coat so hopefully it will last at least a bit longer with top coat.

I'm not sure why they called this one Black Magic of all things, since black it most certainly is not. Whatever, the color is amazing. Here you can see it's a bit lighter color with less light.

I do want to mention that the texture of this one surprised me, because well, there is some definite texture to this polish. This one is definitely going to be a Halloween time favorite, for certain. I'm so happy I found this one. Next time I think I'll try layering it to see how it works.

So despite the few problems I have with this polish, for 99 cents, this is definitely a winner in my mind.

Julie G Sugar Rush.. Spotted

I have nothing to disclose.

I've really fallen in love with the Julie G texture polishes, if you couldn't tell.. and today I have one more to show you. This one is Sugar Rush, which is kind of a more reddish orange.

I really love these polishes.. and the colors are all really pretty amazing.

I haven't tried many other texture polishes, but just from what I've tried of the Julie G polishes, this one collection is my favorite and is definitely going to be my go to collection for texture polishes. I really hope I can get my hands on some of the new colors for Winter. I love the depth of these colors. So beautiful.

So anyway, I decided OPI Black Spotted would look pretty amazing with this... except I didn't really think about the fact that it might not work so well over a texture polish. Which it didn't. In fact, it even cracked like a crackle on one nail! (Why do I keep getting non crackle polishes to crack??)

Yeah, that looked pretty awful. So I fixed it :) I gently applied more Sugar Rush over top Spotted, but then I hated how it looked with the orange edge so I went around my edges with Spotted to blacken them up. I really love how this turned out :)

This looked much prettier in real life, I wish I could have captured it better on camera.. and I'm not sure what's all over my fingers that looks like grass? My fingers kind of look a mess, sorry about that :(

I've done similar techniques a few times now over the past month, and I think this is a new favorite if you couldn't tell :)

Sally Hansen Lava and more Halloween nail art

I have nothing to disclose. I won and/or purchased these items.

Today I have a gorgeous Sally Hansen polish to share with you. I'm a big SH fan, but I have got to get some more of the Lustre Shine polishes. I think you'll see why when you see my swatches. Lava, from what I understood, was a limited edition Lustre Shine polish released last year although I've still seen it in stores in my area. In fact, the Lustre Shine polishes are on sale at Walgreens this week for $5 each... or at least they were at my store! Darn I wish I had the money to get more of these beauties right now. Oh well.. moving on.

Look how pretty Lava is in the dark even!

I love the duochrome effect with this polish, it's absolutely gorgeous. The only thing I don't like about this polish is that it does look awfully thin and sheer on the tips. So I would definitely use this layered over another polish or underneath one on the tips.

My camera didn't like to capture this one in it's true beauty but I hope you can see just how much this one shifts colors. So pretty.

Since I didn't like my tips, I decided to freehand some pumpkins using some of my Shany nail art polishes.

Shiny pumpkins!

So, not much more time left now until Halloween, and I haven't seemed to even begin to do nail art this year what with being sick for weeks on end and what not. Oh well, guess I'll have a lot more to do next year! :)

Clown Puke!

I won one of these polishes.

Today I'm sharing with you the manicure my boyfriend described as looking like Clown Puke, haha. First up, the undie: KleanColor Melon Green. This polish is very sheer. The color itself reminds me of green apples and for some reason candy apples, so I thought it would make for a good Halloween manicure. I used 2 coats, and it's still pretty sheer.

-low light, pardon the bluriness-

-flash, not sure what was on my nails.. hmm..-

Here's where the Clown Puke part of it comes in.. I added Candy Laquer Sugar Rush, a polish full of multiple colored square and hex glitters of different sizes.

This was a very different look for me, if anything else and I really liked it. Sugar Rush will be fun to use again sometime.. a great polish for Halloween I think, but it should be fun for other holidays, too :)

Halloween Stamping Fun

I won one of these polishes, bought the other.

I have more nail art to share with you today, this time some stamping. But first, here's my undies.  As a base, I used JulieG Tangerine Dream, which if you haven't seen it, is a gorgeous orange texture polish. I really love the JulieG Sugar Drop polishes so far!

Considering that I used to hate orange, I think it speaks volumes how much I love this color. Just look at all of that sparkle!

I decided to top this with Daring Digits Ectoplasm, which is a glow in the dark polish full of silverish gold micro glitter. I think this layering really added something special to Tangerine Dream and made it even prettier. Unfortunately, I never did get the chance to try this out under black light :(

Bundle Monster has a bunch of fun Halloween themed stamping plates, so I'm going to have to get in some practice this year with them :) For this manicure, I used plate BM 224. I still need to practice a lot but I'm starting to get better at stamping! I'm sure I'll be doing a bunch more for Christmas, too!

I forgot to let some of my nails dry before applying top coat, so they smudged a bit. Oops :( I really like this jack o lantern image though, and it worked really well!

Hopefully I'll do better with it next time :)

Halloween Nail Art with Fantasy Makers Nail in the Coffin

I won this polish.

In addition to using my candy themed polishes this month, I just have to use my Fantasy Makers polishes, right? So first up is Nail in the Coffin, along with some nail art.

 -natural light, low light-

If you're not familiar with Fantasy Makers, they're made by the Wet n Wild brand, and they have lots of fun polish and other makeup just for Halloween. The polish I have are fun in that they have a little lid in the shape of a tombstone with R.I.P. written on it. Nail in the Coffin is kind of a creamy black base with mostly reddish gold micro glitter. It's definitely not the best quality polish out there, but it's not the worst, either. For something fun like Halloween, it's decent. I haven't actually seen these in stores at all so I'm not sure how much they cost but I'm sure since it's Wet n Wild, the price is reasonable. (Hope to get to Walgreens soon before Halloween, just to see if they have any of these!)

-flash-
As usual, because this is a dark polish, you can see that it really stuck to my cuticles >_<

It was one of those days where nothing seems to go right.. I somehow lost the polish on my accent nail, I don't remember how or what I did to lose it but I felt it worked well for a Halloween themed manicure. So I decided to do some nail art, which, because it's me and these things just seem to happen no matter how slow I go or how careful I am.. it turned out a mess :P Oh well.

I topped the accent with Fantasy Makers Go With the Glow, their glow in the dark topper, just to give the nail some better protection. You probably can't tell, but I had originally planned on doing some stamping, and that did not work out AT ALL either. But there's a little trace of my stamping attempt under the spiderweb :P

Oh well, I tried. I'll have more nail art to share later :)
