Stash update & my new pets!

some of the items mentioned were sent for review. I have linked to those reviews when appropriate.

So it turned August last week and I realized that I never got around to updating my stash list for June so I thought I'd just go ahead and post all of my new polishes since then. I've gotten a few new things because yay! Mike started a new job 2 weeks ago and I splurged a bit because I never got to do so for my birthday :P

We're also working on creating a natural aquarium, and we got our first 3 living plants this past weekend. This is a 5.5 gallon aquarium.

 Left to right: some kind of Anubias - the label just said "assorted anubias"; Java fern, "bamboo".

The Java fern had a lot of brown on it, but I read that they go through this stage right before they start to sprout off new plants. I think it's starting to look a little bit healthier now that it's been in the aquarium for a couple of days.

Anubias apparently sometimes grow flowers, so I'm hoping this is one of the types that will bloom. The rock next to it came from Lake Michigan :)

The "bamboo" isn't really bamboo, apparently it's a type of lily. It isn't a true aquatic plant, so it can't be completely submerged underwater. I had a little hole in the tank hood for a heater so I decided to poke the bamboo through that hole. Hopefully it does well. This type of plant also grows flowers, so I think it would look pretty neat to have a blooming flower poking out of the aquarium.

We have a lot more planned for our little aquarium, so I'll be posting updates to share with you along with our new additions :)

So anyway, there's my new aquarium set up.. now for my new pretties!
