The story of my thumb nail.

I have nothing to disclose.

For the past few weeks, I've been avoiding showing you my thumb nail on my left hand. This picture shows why.

That looks like a crack in my nail, right? Wrong!

About mid-February I noticed what looked like a crack in literally the middle of my thumb nail. So even though I didn't want to, I cut back the nail and then I started doing the tea bag method to hold it together. If you're not familiar with the tea bag method, basically all you do is apply a layer of base coat to a cracked nail, cut off a small piece of a tea bag, and then apply another coat of base coat to hold it in place.

I thought for certain I was going to lose my nail, down into the pink, and I was cringing horribly at that thought because I'm a big baby. So every week, I just simply removed any polish on my nail, and any remainder of the tea bag. Then I just kept adding tea bag layer after layer because it kept not holding.

Eventually, my nail grew out enough that I could lift it and take a peek. Oh, great. It looked like there was another layer of nail growing under the existing nail. At this point, I was starting to worry about maybe having some kind of fungus.

It finally grew out enough that I could get a good clean look at it.

My nail wasn't cracked, it was merely flaking off! Urgh! >-<
