Today I have kind of an oddball item for review. I realize this doesn't quite fit in with the regular stuff I blog about but that's ok. I was a Girl Scout so I believe in always being prepared so I thought this would be a fun review.

Review

This multi tool comes in a little black case and comes with a handy little card which shows you exactly what each part of the tool is for.

Unfortunately since I recently injured my leg I haven't been doing any hiking since I received this so I haven't been able to put it to real world testing so to speak. However, I like that it's small enough to fit into a wallet or purse. I thought this might be made out of flimsy metal but I was wrong, it seems quite strong.

What I really like about this multi tool is the direction ancillary indication aka compass. While my cell phone does have a compass app I leave my phone at home when I go anywhere. I don't own a compass so this feature alone makes this little tool handy.

To prove it works I first found true north using the compass on my phone but of course I already knew which way was north. I used a small stone to point the direction as a marker. Then I used the multi tool to find north. Here's how it works. You just place the tool on a flat surface and fill the compass area with water. Then you just place a piece of hair on top of the water and it points to north! Easy, effective and this could be a lifesaver in an emergency.

I also like the security of knowing I will have a sharp edge on me if ever needed in an emergency because you just never know.

Frankincense oils review

I adore frankincense as it is one of the only things in this world which help treat hemicrania continua, and yes it has helped with my headaches. I've been wanting to try it in oil form for quite awhile to see if it was more effective than taking in capsules. Review:

I've been using this oil a lot to treat my daily headache and it has helped somewhat. I just rub a little bit on my forehead and the base of my neck for relief. I did not use a carrier oil most of the time and I had no problems.  I also used this to ease chronic leg pain and a pulled leg muscle. I definitely felt relief.

I now like to keep this oil on hand and whenever I notice a little bit of pain I just rub the oil on for relief. I think I may want to start using a carrier oil with this even though the bottle is a huge 4 ounces just because I want it to last longer. 

This oil has a woodsy scent which I actually don't much care for but I can kind of ignore it. My boyfriend said I smell like one of the head shops from our hometown so I suppose it smells similar to patchouli, I'm not sure.

This oil is 100% pure steam distilled from India. Even though it is steam distilled it doesn't have an expiration date on the label at all. It is labeled as premium therapeutic grade meaning it isn't quite as strong.

Review:

I didn't notice much difference between this oil and the Radha Beauty frankincense except this oil does seem to have a stronger odor which makes me believe it is more potent. This bottle is only 10 mL and usually I'm not a big fan of the smaller sized oils just because it doesn't seem like you get very much for the price. With this oil however I feel the convenience of the small bottle is nice. Frankincense oil is something I would like to have with me at all times so I do like that this bottle is small enough for me to carry it in my purse.
